AMARA I: Itinerary Mandalay – Bhamo (6 days, 5 nights)

Embark the Amara River Cruise at 08:00 am. We cruise north of Mandalay along the Ayeyarwaddy River to Mingunand visit the Mingun Bell, which weighs 90 tonnes and is the biggest hanging, undamaged bell in the world; the Shin Phyume Pagoda, and the unfinished Mingun Pagoda, a colossal brick monument.  After sightseeing, cruise north on the AyeyarwaddyRiver till the town of Singu. (Meals:  L / D )

We leave Si-the at 06:00 am and cruise this day till Kyar-Nyut. Visit the Nwe Nyein Pottery Village. We will pass the Third Defile. Small villages along the river live from the trade of wood and fishing. Dinner and overnight onboard. (Meals: B / L / D )

Set sail at 06:00 am. Our journey will continue upstream until Tagaung, one of the oldest capitals of Myanmar. Excursion into Tagaung. Overnight and dinner on board the Amara just north of Tagaung near Inn Ywar. (Meals: B / L / D)

Set sail at 06:00 am. This day we will reach till Katha, a beautiful town with a colorful market, friendly people and a unique atmosphere. Katha is known from the book “Burmese Days”, written by George Orwell. Dinner and overnight on board the Amara, moored near Minn Kyaung-Kone Village. (Meals: B / L / D)

Set cruise at 06:00 am. The Amara will stop on the opposite river bank of Shwegu, near the pagodas of Shwe Baw Kyunn. Thousands of pagodas can be found here, probably built around the 10th century.  We will pass the Second Defileon this day – the banks of the river become a steep cliff. The scenery is amazing and offers a beautiful scenery. The Amara will arrive near Bhamo, the most place any boat can reach. Overnight and dinner on board the Amara. (Meals: B / L / D)

Disembark after breakfast at the Bhamo Jetty. (Meals: B )

AMARA II: Itinerary Mandalay – Bhamo (7 days, 6 nights)

Embark the Amara River Cruise at 08:00 am. We cruise north of Mandalay on the Ayeyarwaddy River to Shinemag. (Meals:  L / D)

We leave Si-the at 06:00 am and cruise this day till Kyar-Nyut. Visit the Nwe Nyein Pottery Village. We will pass the Third Defile. Small villages along the river live from the trade of wood and fishing. Dinner and overnight onboard. (Meals: B / L / D )

Set cruise at 06:00 am. Our journey will continue upstream until Htee-Gyaint, a lovely little town. Excursion into Htee-Gyaint. Overnight and dinner on board the Amara just north of Kyauk-Maw. (Meals: B / L / D

Set cruise at 06:00 am. This day we will reach Katha, a beautiful town with a colorful market, friendly people and a unique atmosphere. In the morning after breakfast, we will take a car to visit an elephant camp about 12 miles west of Katha. You will have the opportunity to ride an elephant, if you wish. Depart from Katha around noon and cruise this day until Min Chaung Kone village. Maybe you also get to see the famous Ayeyarwaddy Dolphin, quite common in this area (Meals: B / L / D)
